Turning Freesong into Something More

Producing a studio album

When I was living in the Nashville area, I started exploring production with other musicians, in an internet group. One of my freesongs, Center, caught the interest of a producer in South Africa, who used production to turn the tune into Galaxy. I don’t have the time, between the music and my other creative work, to do my own production work. Nor do I have the studio equipment or knowledge to do production. So I wish to raise funds to work with a producer here in Atlanta to create one album of produced music. In this way I hope to interest other musicians about the use of freesong in beats and samplings for their work.

This audio shares the original one take track, Center, followed by the produced version, Galaxy. I am planning to open two gigs on Fiverr by August 2024, one for delivering bespoke freesongs for personal use, and the other for providing bespoke live tracks for professional use.

What do you think of the differences in the music? I’d love to know.

How wordless music can free the mind. Freesong is a vocal music that uses vocables instead of words, so that the singer can concentrate only on making sounds that express feeling, not ideas. Freesong is a musical form of meditation, freeing the mind from distractions.Vocables are part of the musical sound, nothing more, nothing less. Freesong is zen like because it is created and exists only in the moment it is sung. It exists exactly as it should, in that moment, no matter how rough or smooth it might be. It turns breath into something wonderful. When that is understood, the music has a power to it most singers feel they can never own. That of their authentic, unique, voice.
It can also be used to soothe those who can no longer form and use words, whether they have dementia, aphasia, or other brain or mind issues. Music that can heal. Music is a separate form of communication, that can be used long after language fails.
